Perfection was on the line when the Honeoye and Bloomfield boys and girls bowling teams met in their final regular season matches of the season at Roseland Bowl Monday.
The Bombers boys team swept the Bulldogs 7-0 to wrap up their undefeated season, where they easily won a Finger Lakes West League title. The Bulldogs girls couldn’t pull off the sweep to complete a perfect season, but Honeoye did win 4-3 to wrap up a league title. Read more

When the Honeoye and Bloomfield boys basketball teams met in December, it was one of the most exciting games of the season. The Bulldogs overcame a 10-point halftime deficit to win 60-57 in Honeoye.
Bloomfield is tied with Dundee for the league lead in the Finger Lakes West at 10-2. Honeoye is right behind them at 9-2. One of those local teams will get a leg up after the rematch in Bloomfield at 6 p.m. Saturday. Read more

In the past decade, Eivind Rynning has crossed Greenland. He has climbed Mount McKinley in Alaska. And last month, he completed a voyage to the South Pole.
Rynning’s permanent home is in Portland, Maine, but the 69-year-old spends most of his time in the Finger Lakes. He works at Commodore in Bloomfield, handling the international side of business. For about seven years, his home-away-from-home has been in South Bristol, near the base of Bristol Mountain. He began training for his recent voyage there, pulling tires up the slope. Read more
